The NFL Returns, but Quite Different!

After soccer, hockey, baseball, and basketball have started, football is here. The highly-anticipated 2020 season is what people have been looking forward to for quite a while. All across America, fans are putting their football gear back on. With barely two months of squad practices, there wasn’t much time to prepare. With no pre-season, it will be very interesting to see how rookies respond to being in the NFL. After a good first week of games, second-week games are highly anticipated. With no pre-season, it will take a while for players to get back into the rhythm of playing a full game every week.

Unlike MLB, the NFL will play a full season, plus the playoffs. With a total of 67 players opting out many were doubtful about if the season would happen. Many opted because of health concerns, others because they were taking a stand for different causes. Unlike the NBA and NHL, the NFL will not use the bubble system. Safety precautions are in place to keep players and staff in good health. All staff will have to wear masks during games. Without the crazy fans, the 2020 season will be very different it affected some players differently than others. For some players, they did better with the fans cheering them on. For others, it helps not having 70,000+ fans screaming at the top of their lungs when you make a bad play. Some stadiums are trying to let fans into their stadiums but at a low capacity from 10,000-20,000 fans per game. This will definitely be one of the most remembered seasons of NFL history.
